The Disney Parks Blog will be highlighting the various sections of the upcoming Marketplace Co Op location at Downtown Disney. The merchandise location is set to open later in 2014, and will be divided into various merchandise sections or boutiques. The overall concept of the Marketplace Co Op is a testing space for new Disney retail concepts, shops and products.
The boutique highlighted today is Disney Centerpiece and included some quotes from Dana Harchar of Disney's Global Retail Development team:
“Disney Centerpiece will have an eclectic mix of display fixtures for the merchandise. The neutral color fixtures will have a well-loved and repurposed feel. I chose a few accent colors that complement some merchandise created for this shop. Hand-made Hoosier cabinets will line the exposed brick walls. My teammate Bert McCumber printed three-dimensional models that we shared with the store operations team and other cast members working on this shop.”
A model of the display fixture referenced can be seen in the photos below and it will be used to sell pillows which can also be found in the photos.
Additional offerings include attraction and location specific merchandise ranging from plates, glasses and figures. There will also be a line of retro inspired merchandise based on the themed lands of the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland.
