Debuting October 1, 2019, Epcot’s former Odyssey restaurant has been used as festival space in recent years. The building will become a showcase of the upcoming projects coming to the park called “The Experience Center”. Inside guests will learn about future plans for Epcot through engaging and interactive exhibits.
As part of this new area, the Rainbow Tunnel from the original Journey Into Imagination is rumored to be installed.
RUMOR TIMELINE
October 1, 2019: The Experience Center at The Odyssey officially debuted.
September 25, 2019: WDWMagic.com is reporting that cast member previews for The Experience Center will take place between September 28-30.
September 21, 2019: The exterior of The Odyssey has been repainted with a white backdrop and new accent colors. BlogMickey.com posted photos of the new graphics.
August 22, 2019: Disney Released new concept art for The Experience Center coming to The Odyssey


July 26, 2019: WDWMagic.com users DreamfinderGuy and danlb_2000 have posted permits filed related to the installation of The Experience Center.
June 19, 2019: WDWNT.com is reporting that the Rainbow Tunnel from the original Journey Into Imagination will find a home in “The Experience Center” coming to The Odyssey building.
February 21, 2019: Disney revealed details and concept art for the new entrance to Epcot and that additional redevelopment will take place between Spaceship Earth and World Showcase Promenade.
In addition to the changes at the park entrance, a new Experience Center will open later this year in The Odyssey. The Experience Center will showcase the future plans for Epcot in engaging and interactive exhibits.
March 7, 2018: WDWInfo.com is reporting that The Odyssey building in Epcot’s Future World will soon be undergoing a remodel to become a “Flex Space”.
Many of the walls will be replaced with windows to allow for better views inside and outside of the space. According to the article, general manager of Epcot festivals David Kesting, recently suggested The Odyssey would potentially be home to a restaurant, merchandise or character greetings.
The building is regularly open during the Food and Wine and Flower and Garden festivals for gallery, dining and merchandise.
