Disney has been reviewing potentially controversial areas of the theme parks. One area mentioned was the Native American scene along the Rivers of America. The expectation is that the scene would remain but be modified following extensive research on what a typical Native American camp would look like in the time frame represented.

The scene is visible from both the Walt Disney World Railroad and the Liberty Square Riverboat.

The Walt Disney World Railroad suspended operation beginning December 3, 2018 as part of the construction for TRON Lightcycle Run. The Railroad is expected to be closed until at least early 2021.
