    A new film is coming to The Land Pavilion called “Awesome Planet” on January 17, 2020.

    “Awesome Planet” in The Land pavilion showcases the Earth’s beauty and diversity in a 10-minute film featuring spectacular imagery, in-theater effects and an original musical score from Academy Award-winning® composer Steven Price.

    With spectacular nature photography, immersive in-theater effects, and space sequences created by none other than Industrial Light & Magic (which provided the cinematic foundation for the Star Wars franchise), “Awesome Planet” will stir Epcot guests and deliver an environmental message that will resonate far beyond its final scenes.

    The show will take place in the Harvest Theater, the former home of the Circle of Life film.

    December 3, 2019: At a press event held Tuesday, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Bob Chapek announced that three shows currently in development at Epcot will debut on January 17, 2020:

    “Awesome Planet” in The Land pavilion showcases the Earth’s beauty and diversity in a 10-minute film featuring spectacular imagery, in-theater effects and an original musical score from Academy Award-winning® composer Steven Price.

    December 3, 2019: A sign for Awesome Planet is now on the facade for the new attraction inside The Land Pavilion. WDWMagic.com user realBobChapek posted photos of the new sign.

    August 25, 2019: During the Parks and Resorts presentation at the 2019 D23 Expo, Bob Chapek confirmed that Awesome Planet will debut in January 2020.

    May 13, 2019: WDWNT.com is reporting that the following films will debut in January 2020 as part of the 2020 Epcot International Festival of the Arts:

    • New Seamless Circle-Vision 360 film for the China Pavilion.
    • New Beauty and the Beast Sing-a-long in the France Pavilion.
    • New Circle-Vision 360 film for the Canada Pavilion. An additional note on this from the article indicates that the film likely will not be seamless and is unlikely to feature Martin Short.
    • New Awesome Planet show for The Land Pavilion.

    March 21, 2017: WDWMagic.com user MagicFeather is reporting that the expected likelihood of projects taking place in Epcot is as follows:

    • Mission: SPACE update/refurbishment
    • Ratatouille attraction in the France Pavilion
    • Guardians of the Galaxy attraction replacing Ellen’s Energy Adventure
    • Small attraction addition to the United Kingdom Pavilion
    • First new country in World Showcase (Likely Brazil)
    • Living with the Land/The Land Pavilion refurbishment
    • Second new country in World Showcase (Likely Spain)

    February 12, 2017: WDWMagic.com user marni1971 is reporting that The Land is due for an overhaul “next decade”. Living with the Land will receive changes and Circle of Life will be replaced.
