The Disney Parks Blog announced a pair of animal additions today. Over at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney recently added a new species, the red lechwe. Lechwes are antelopes typically found in Southern Africa. Their distinct look has their hind legs higher than their front legs. As they age, the male lechwe typically has a darker coat. The red lechwes join the red river hogs on the Pembe Savannah, visible from Kidani Village.

Over at Disney's Animal Kingdom, two pink-backed pelican chicks have been born. The two chicks are visible now on Kilimanjaro Safaris with the rest of the pink-backed pelicans at Safi River.
