New Bijutsu-kan Gallery Celebrates ‘Cute Culture’ at Japan Pavilion in Epcot

The Disney Parks Blog announced that over the weekend a new exhibit joined the Bijutsu-Kan Gallery in Epcot's Japan Pavilion. The new gallery is called "Kawaii: Japan’s Cute Culture" and it replaces the previous Spirited Beasts exhibit.

The new exhibit features a Melty-Go-Round statue of a Harajuku Girl designed by Kawaii artist and designer Sebastian Masuda. The gallery celebrates the country's culture of cute, and per the blog:

Kawaii is rooted in Japan’s Shinto past, and is a means of self-expression, from schoolhouses to construction sites. The Bijutsu-kan Gallery features a replica of a modern Tokyo apartment and historical artifacts that illustrate kawaii’s origins.
