Mary Poppins Attraction and Spaceship Earth Refurbishment Officially Postponed

Disney has confirmed that both the Mary Poppins attraction and the Spaceship Earth Refurbishment have been officially postponed.

As with most businesses during this period, we are further evaluating long-term project plans. The decision was made to postpone development of the “Mary Poppins”-inspired attraction and Spaceship Earth at this time.

Both the new attraction and the refurbishment were announced at last year’s D23 Expo. Disney had previously stated that Spaceship Earth would re-open with the parks on July 15th and it did re-open today.

Over at The EPCOT Experience, the information on the two attractions were removed from the presentation, but the model still features both the updated United Kingdom Pavilion as well as Spaceship Earth.

Other ongoing projects are still included in the presentation at The EPCOT Experience including:

  • The Event/Festival Pavilion
  • Journey of Water
  • PLAY! Pavilion
  • Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
  • Wondrous China
  • Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
  • HarmonioUS

The Event/Festival Pavilion is still featured in the video presentation, however the model was removed from the area outside the multimedia presentation.
