Major League Soccer to Host ‘MLS is Back Tournament’ at ESPN Wide World of Sports

The Washington Post is reporting that Disney has reached an agreement with Major League Soccer to host a tournament for part of the 2020 season at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The agreement comes the same week as the NBA also reaching an agreement to finish their season at the same complex.

All 26 teams will reside at the Walt Disney World resort and will play games at the complex without spectators.

A June 10, 2020 Update from the Disney Parks Blog:

The MLS is Back Tournament will be held at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex from July 8 to August 11. The unique tournament will include all 26 MLS clubs competing in a continuous schedule of 54 total matches that will take place nearly every day. The matches will count in the 2020 MLS regular season standings, and the tournament winner will also earn a spot in the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League.

An earlier version of this article incorrectly reported that the remainder of the MLS season would be played at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
