WDWMagic.com has reported that beginning tomorrow, select attractions will begin testing the long range RFID readers in the Magic Bands. These readers will allow on ride photos to be automatically synced to a guest's account at certain attractions. This is the first known use of the long range RFID readers in the parks.
Conceptually, the readers will be able to detect a guest wearing a Magic Band and add the on ride photo directly to their My Disney Experience account. The photos will be available for purchase or be included as part of an existing Memory Maker package. With this just going into testing tomorrow, expect some test and adjust for this process.
Currently, the attractions that will utilize the long range RFID readers are as follows:
- Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin
- Space Mountain
- Splash Mountain
- Test Track
- Rock n Roller Coaster
- Tower of Terror
- Expedition Everest
