The Echo Lake area of Hollywood Studios continues the Hollywood that never was and always will be theme that persists in the front part of the park. The dedication plaque refers to Hollywood as, “A state of mind that exists wherever people dream and wonder and imagine.” Echo Lake represents what people thought of when they thought of 1950s era Hollywood.
The 50’s theme is highlighted by the 50’s Prime Time Diner which is a throwback to the diners of the era. The Hollywood and Vine restaurant carries a similar feel of the time period.
Around the lake, the theming transitions into the movie production theme which is highlighted by Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Star Tours. Both attractions acknowledge their existence on a movie set of sorts, however the 2011 upgrade to Star Tours has seen this downplayed substantially.
Other attractions in the area include For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. This exists on one of the corners of Hollywood Boulevard and Echo Lake. Additionally, the Jedi Training Academy teaches young Padowans how to become a Jedi. The Backlot Express restaurant offers a variety of sandwiches and other quick service options while the ABC Sound Stage is occasionally home to special events.
Other snack service and quick service locations in the area continue the 50’s era Hollywood Theme, highlighted by Peevy’s Polar Pipeline, Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner, Oasis Canteen, and Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream.
