Limited Time Magic was a 2013 promotional campaign across Disney Parks. Seasonal events of a day, week or a month in length took place throughout the four theme parks and Downtown Disney as an added benefit for guests. The various events were announced a few days prior to them taking place.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios events during the Limited Time Magic campaign included the following:
Star Wars Day (May 4, 2013)
In honor of Star Wars day, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be hosting “May the 4th Be with You!”—a one-of-a-kind Star Wars-themed celebration for both parents and kids alike.
From meeting classic characters to collecting limited-edition merchandise, it’s sure to be an unforgettable extravaganza! Only a Sith would miss this magic event.
Monsters University Homecoming (June 14, 2013 – August 31, 2013)
Make way for a Monsters University Homecoming celebration! The MU School of Scaring is hosting a campus bash inspired by Disney•Pixar’s Monsters University and it all goes down each evening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Hit the quad where you can hear your DJ—”Monster of Scaremonies”—spinning the latest beats, and take part in a series of fun activities. Then, get pepped up as the MU cheerleaders pop in to lead the MU Fight Song before those monsters of rock, Scare Supply, take the stage. Enjoy a medley of monstrous mash-ups, and laugh along as they’re joined on stage by Mike and Sulley. It’s a pep rally of epic proportions, and it’s all part of Limited Time Magic!
The Lone Ranger Sneak Peak (June 14, 2013 – August 3, 2013)
Saddle up for a wild summer ride when The Lone Ranger arrives at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Come mid-June, gallop over to ABC Sound Studio for a little Limited Time Magic and enjoy an extended trailer of The Lone Ranger, starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer. Don’t miss the chance to catch this sneak peek of Disney’s thrilling adventure film before it opens in theaters on July 3, 2013! And from June 15 to June 16, keep your eyes peeled for statues of the Lone Ranger and Tonto at Downtown Disney area—see if you can spot the two whenever they pop up!
American Idol Live Celebrity Motorcade (July 31, 2013)
Get ready to go to Hollywood—the American Idol Live! Tour 2013 is heading to Central Florida. And for just one day, Limited Time Magic is giving you a chance to see your idols in person at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Join the fun on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 when a one-time-only American Idol celebrity motorcade—featuring some of your favorite American Idol Season 12 Finalists—parades down Hollywood Boulevard.
The American Idol Experience: Juniors Edition (August 12-18, 2013)
For one week only, Limited Time Magic will be transforming pop star fantasies into real-life dreams come true for a few lucky Guests, ages 6 to 13. Just like the television show, it all begins with an a cappella performance of a popular song. And with the right kind of energetic impression, they’ll set off for the next exciting round.
Unleash the Villains (September 13, 2013)
Coming Friday, September 13, get ready to experience the most spine-tingling bit of Limited Time Magic yet at Walt Disney World Resort! From 8:00 PM until 1:00 AM—a.k.a. the 13th hour—the Disney Villains will be waiting for your arrival as they make their way to the dead center of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Come along for this devilishly delicious affair, on a night jam-packed with13 dastardly Disney baddies and a host of fiendish festivities.
Disney Ambassador Tours (September 16-20, 2013)
Discover a new view of the grandeur at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! As part of Limited Time Magic, you can follow an official Walt Disney World Ambassador on a tour of the park. Created by Walt Disney in 1965, the Disney Ambassador Program has carried on a rich heritage of imaginative storytelling and goodwill service for Disney. Come learn more about the story of the park’s history—including fun facts and icons you may have missed—before enjoying a “walk” through of one of its most popular attractions, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. This tour sets out from the park entrance once a day at 9:30 AM and space is limited—guests can register at the Disney Parks Blog.
Year of the Ear: Halloween (October 4-31, 2013)
Scare up some fashionable frights this Halloween season as you spruce up your wardrobe with a little Limited Time Magic! Throughout October, celebrate the Year of the Ear at Walt Disney World Resort with a limited edition Halloween Mickey Mouse Pumpkin Ear Hat, available while supplies last! Stop by any one of a number of shops and locations to discover yours—Emporium at Magic Kingdom park; Gateway Gifts, MouseGear and Disney Traders at Epcot; Beverly Sunset at Disney’s Hollywood Studios; Island Mercantile at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park; and Disney’s Days of Christmas as well as World of Disney Store in the Downtown Disney area.
Thanksgiving Celebration (November 24 – December 1, 2013)
Celebrate the tastiest time of the year with Thanksgiving treats at Walt Disney World Resort—courtesy of Limited Time Magic! Savor the flavors in Magic Kingdom park with pumpkin delicacies at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant and Sleepy Hollow, as well as seasonal Starbucks offerings at Main Street Bakery. For Guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, pumpkin cupcakes are available in many quick-service restaurants, and specialty drinks can be found in various bars. Even more goodness is waiting to be gobbled down in Epcot, like pumpkin cheesecake and pumpkin muffins inside Sunshine Seasons. And finally, a safari of culinary delights awaits at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, including an all-you-care-to-enjoy feast—available for lunch and dinner on Thanksgiving Day at Tusker House.
