The ImageWorks – The “What If?” Labs are the post show area for the Journey Into Imagination With Figment attraction. They are a continuation of the Imagination Institute’s Sensory Laboratories that guests experience on the attraction.
The ImageWorks shop can be found here.
The ImageWorks – The “What If?” Labs are the evolution of the original Image Works that opened in 1983. The “What If?” Labs continue the Sensory Laboratories concept from the Journey Into Imagination with Figment attraction.
Following the attraction, guests pass through the ImageWorks, and inside they can participate in a variety of interactive activities, including the following:
- Compose your own Figment – A computer where guests can mix and match different body components to create their own Figment
- Figment’s Melody Maker – Guests can conduct music by waving their hands near a sensor like a conductor of an orchestra
- Stepping Tones – Guests can jump or step on a variety of squares to make sounds from different musical instruments. A similar area was also a part of the original Image Works
The shop and interactive area take up approximately 5000 square feet of the Imagination! Pavilion.
TIMES GUIDE - OPENING/CLOSING
This attraction opens with the park, but typically closes at 7:00 PM
Kodak sponsored the Journey Into Imagination Pavilion when it opened with the park in 1982 up until September 10, 2010.
The original Image Works was on the second floor of the Journey Into Imagination Pavilion. When the original ride closed in 1998, the original Image Works closed with it.
The new area opened as ImageWorks – The Kodak “What If” Labs and retained that name up until Kodak ended their sponsorship in 2010.
