Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Re-Opening Delayed Until Summer 2021


Disney has officially announced that the re-opening of Disney’s Polynesian Resort will be delayed until Summer 2021. Disney has advised travel agents that the resort will undergo a refurbishment to guest rooms and the Grand Ceremonial House beginning in October. The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that changes to the rooms will include a Pacific Ocean-inspired color palette as well as details, patterns and textures from Disney’s “Moana.”

The Villas and Bungalows are expected to remain open during the refurbishment. Other re-opening dates remain unchanged:

  • September 21, 2020: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • October 14, 2020: Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
  • November 1, 2020: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
