WDWMagic.com is reporting that now through April 7, 2017, Disney will be testing a virtual queuing system at both of its water parks. The system will not allow for advanced booking, nor will it utlize the current Fastpass+ system. The process will be similar to a pager at a restaurant where guests can return to the attraction when it's their time to ride.
The attractions that will utilize this are Downhill Double Dipper, Slush Gusher and Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach and the new Miss Adventure Falls at Typhoon Lagoon.
Universal Studios has been advertising their own virtual queueing system called the Tapu Tapu that they will be using when their new "Water Theme Park", Volcano Bay opens on May 25, 2017.
