Disney Confirms Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Candlelight Processional Will Not Take Place in 2020


The Disney Parks Blog shared details of the upcoming holiday offerings at the Walt Disney World Resort.

The holidays will be celebrated from November 6 – December 30, 2020 with decorations and necessary modifications to many holiday favorites.

At the Magic Kingdom, the character cavalcades will feature characters in their holiday finest paired with gingerbread men, reindeer and elves. The Toy Soldiers will also join the Main Street Philharmonic during their marches throughout the park. Cinderella Castle will see holiday specific projection effects at night as an alternative to the Castle Dream Lights and Once Upon a Time. Finally, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will not take place in 2020.

EPCOT will feature “festive promenades”, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will feature “festive flotillas, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will feature “merry motorcades”.

The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays will debut November 27th with Holiday Kitchens around World Showcase. Guests will also be able to visit World ShowPlace where the Gospel group Joyful will return for performances. The Voices of Liberty will perform at the America Gardens Theater as well. Unfortunately, the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT will not take place in 2020.

Starting November 6th at Hollywood & Vine, Minnie will be wearing her holiday best as she’s joined by Santa Goofy.

At Disney Springs, Christmas Trees will be spread out throughout the retail and dining area and “magical snowfall” will take place nightly at the West Side, The Landing and Town Center. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar will become Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar with festive decorations and a limited time menu.

Disney Resorts will also be decorated for the holidays with the lobby’s featuring many returning favorite decorations.
