Creating Tradition: Innovation and Change in American Indian Art’ Now Open at American Adventure Pavilion


"Creating Tradition: Innovation and Change in American Indian Art" opened today at Epcot's American Adventure Pavilion.

The gallery showcases artwork of Native America artists of the past and present. The gallery features 89 galleries from 40 different tribes.

Per the Disney Parks Blog:

Highlights from the collection include an “Ancient Resonance” dress by designer Acoma Pueblo, a Pokagon Potawatomi black ash hamper basket made in the early 1900s, and a Chilkat blanket from Alaska dating to the 1890s complements “Raven and the Box of Daylight,” a 2017 glass sculpture by Preston Singletary (Tlingit).

The exhibit is a collaboration with the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe, New Mexico and the Smithsonian's National Museum of the Ameriacn Indian in Washington, DC.
