Guests find themselves in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance as they attempt to escape from a Star Destroyer.

The attraction begins at a rebel outpost in Batuu where guests join the Resistance. They are given instructions from Rey to board an Intersystem Transport Ship (I-TS) to meet General Leia Organa at a secret rendezvous point.

Poe Dameron and BB-8 are our guides that travel alongside the transport ship on the way to the meeting. The I-TS is piloted by Nien Nunb and Lieutenant Bek, a Mon Calamari Resistance Officer.

Shortly after departure, the ship is pulled in by a First Order Star Destroyer where guests are forced to exit into the hangar bay of the Star Destroyer.

Inside the hangar, guests encounter a line of 50 Stormtroopers, TIE fighters and a view out into space. It’s here that guests become prisoners of the First Order. First Order officers command the prisoners down a corridor to a detention cell where they will soon learn their fate.

From these detention cells, the guests/prisoners board an 8 passenger transport vehicle manned by an R5 droid. The R5 Droids are First Order droids, but the Resistance has hacked them and they are guiding our escape. The First Order is leading us somewhere, but thankfully the Resistance already has troops on the Star Destroyer for our rescue mission.

Two transport vehicles leave the detention area at the same time and immediately encounter two empty transport vehicles. Our hacked R5 droids interact with the First Order droids at the front of the empty vehicles and Lieutenant Bek tells the hacked R5 droids to communicate with the First Order droids, telling them that this is a prisoner transfer. We escape suspicion and move deeper into the Star Destroyer.

In the next sequence, the two vehicles encounter a Probe droid only to back out before the droid identifies the group as Resistance. The vehicles move throughout the Star Destroyer encountering several Stormtroopers that open fire on the vehicle. The vehicles turn around only to find themselves in a room with two AT-AT walkers and several Stormtroopers. The vehicles are being shot at once again and we see that Finn is disguised as a Stormtrooper to help us with the escape.

The vehicles ascend up a lift against Finn’s wishes as a means of escaping the AT-AT walkers. After escaping the Stormtroopers and the AT-ATs, the vehicles end up looking at the bridge where Kylo Ren and General Hux are discussing what to do with us as Resistance fighters approach.

After leaving the bridge, the vehicles are chased by Kylo Ren, who then jumps on top of the room we’re in and slices through the ceiling with his lightsaber. The transport vehicle leaves that room to find several cannons firing at the Resistance. The vehicles travel underneath the cannons as they’re firing. The Resistance is firing on the Star Destroyer and Finn is warning us to abandon ship.

The vehicles encounter Kylo Ren once more as the Resistance is closing in on the Star Destroyer. The room comes apart around us as we escape into escape pods. Our escape pods drop from the ship only to find themselves in the middle of the dog fight before crash landing back in Batuu.

Join us on an exhilarating mission to stop the First Order! This mission includes stops, sharp turns and a swift drop as you evade capture from the First Order.

Young adults, adults, fans of Star Wars

This attraction opens and closes with the park.

The attraction will not open with Fastpass+ but it is expected to be added at a later date.

Due to increased popularity and reduced operational capacity, the attraction utilizes a virtual queue that requires usage of the My Disney Experience mobile application. Guests need to have their tickets linked to a My Disney Experience account in order to utilize the virtual queue.

Once all guests in the party have entered the park, they can request a boarding group for the attraction at one of multiple distribution windows during the day. Currently the distribution windows open at 10:00 AM (Park Opening) and 2:00 PM). Availability is limited and the boarding groups are typically fully distributed within minutes of the distribution window opening.

The My Disney Experience application allows guests to monitor the status of the boarding groups currently allowed on the attraction. When a guest’s boarding group is called they have an hour to enter the standby line for what is typically been a 20-60 minute wait.

If all of the initial distributed boarding groups are called for the day, Disney opened up additional boarding groups in the evening.

The procedure stopped when the parks re-opened after the Coronavirus closure and it is unknown if it will return. Currently, the attraction only utilizes a Standby queue.

The 8 person vehicles feature two rows of 4 guests. The vehicles are piloted by an R5 unit that was hacked by the Resistance.

The restraint system is a seat belt.

There are three different “pre-shows” for the attraction.

The pre-shows mark the beginning of the attraction. Each Pre-Show leads into the next with minimal wait as part of the story telling mechanism.

Pre-Show 1 (Briefing Room)

There are two different Pre-show rooms, guests enter one of the two rooms where they encounter BB-8 and a hologram of Rey. Rey will brief us on the trip to a secret meeting with General Leia Organa. Poe Dameron and BB-8 will be our guides on the trip.

The pre-show leads guests outside to a courtyard pass Poe’s X-Wing. From there guests enter Pre-Show 2

Pre-Show 2 (Shuttle)

Guests walk up a ramp into the shuttle.

The shuttle is a Resistance shuttle and inside guests will see Nien Nunb and Lieutenant Bek (a Mon Calamari communications officer).

During the trip to the meeting with Leia, the shuttle is sucked in by a star destroyer. We as guests are now prisoners of the first order.

The real life mechanisms of the shuttle help the transition into the next Pre-Show. There are 3 identical shuttle rooms that rotate into the next scene. One is loading guests, one is in transition and one is arriving at the Star Destroyer.

Pre-Show 3 (Star Destroyer / Detention Cell)

The doors open from the shuttle and the group is “greeted” by 2 First Order officers. Guests walk out in the hangar of a Star Destroyer where they see 50 Stormtroopers and a look out into space. Guests also pass by the trooper transport vehicle that will be used on the ride portion of the attraction.

After passing through the hangar, guests are put into groups of 16 and placed in a detention cell. This will be the first encounter with Kylo Ren and General Hux. They discuss what to do with the prisoners and then the Resistance makes their first contact. A laser cuts through the wall and we are ushered to one of two vehicles waiting to make our escape.

The vehicles are manned by an R5 unit that has been hacked by the Resistance.

The location of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was previously home to the Streets of America.

This ride is unique but the ride system for the main part of the attraction is a trackless vehicle similar to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

There is a motion based platform sequence similar to Star Tours as well as a drop similar to Tower of Terror as well.
