‘Frozen’ Attraction Coming to Epcot

Tom Staggs, Chairman of the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, announced today a new ‘Frozen’ attraction is coming to Epcot. The new attraction, which will replace Maelstrom at the Norway Pavilion, will take guests to Arendelle and feature favorite scenes and music from the animated film. Also new to the pavilion will be a royal meet and greet with Anna and Elsa.

Staggs announced several other ‘Frozen’ related changes to the Walt Disney World parks:

    • Frozen characters including Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf will be added to Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. This parade is scheduled as part of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
    • Queen Elsa will use her powers to transform Cinderella Castle into an ice palace every night starting in early November.
    • Special events at Disney’s Hollywood Studios have been extended, including the Frozen sign-along and Wandering Oaken's Trading Post.

The expected opening of the new attraction will be early 2016 with Maelstrom expected to have it's last day of operation on October 5, 2014.
