The area around Cinderella Castle has been re-designed to allow for better guest traffic flow in the area.
The moats were partially filled and new pathways and landscaping has been designed. The area has also resulted in designated viewing areas for fireworks and parades. New castle turrets flank the left and right side of the hub closest to Cinderella Castle.
The new area opened in phases in 2015, with the project mostly completed by the end of October. The last phase of the project is a re-design of the ramps that lead up to Cinderella Castle.

- February 25, 2014: The Tip Board near Casey's Corner had it's last day of operation
- January 12, 2015: Fastpass+ viewing locations for the Festival of Fantasy Parade and Main Street Electrical Parade are relocated from the Cinderella Castle Hub to the Town Square Hub
- February 25, 2015: Main Street Plaza Gardens West is open to guests. The area features Fastpass+ kiosks to be read for guests with Wishes Nighttime Spectacular Fastpass+ reservations.
- February 27, 2015: Fastpass+ viewing locations for Wishes Nighttime Spectacular move from the Plaza Rose Garden to the newly opened Main Street Plaza Gardens. The new gardens / viewing areas will be across from Casey's Corner and The Plaza Restaurant
- October 25, 2015 (approximately): All walls have been removed with the exception of the walls around the ramps leading up to Cinderella Castle.
June 17, 2016: Today Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire debuted to guests at the Magic Kingdom. The show is performed on the Castle Forecourt stage multiple times per day and marks the completion of the Cinderella Castle Hub project. Most of the work was completed by last October.
October 25, 2015: The only walls remaining up in the hub are around the ramps that lead up to the Cinderella Castle.
September 17, 2015: Twitter user @Schmoofy has reported that a third turret has been uncovered as part of the Cinderella Castle Hub construction.
September 9, 2015: WDWMagic.com user WDWTraveler has reported that the center of the castle fourcourt opened today for guests.
July 9, 2015: WDWMagic.com user SpaceMountain75 has posted photos of the new castle spires in front of Cinderella Castle.
June 17, 2015: OrlandoParksNews.com posted a photo update of the Castle Hub project. The photo update included new concept art that appears on the construction walls.
June 3, 2015: The castle turrets that flank the left and right side of the hub have been installed. They are still behind construction tarps, but they can be visible above the tarps.
May 21, 2015: The Disney Parks Blog posted a piece of concept that shows the new Castle Turrets that flank the left and right side of the hub.
February 27, 2015: The Disney Parks Blog posted several new photos of the Main Street Plaza Gardens East and West. They also confirmed that beginning today, Fastpass+ viewing for Wishes will be relocated to the new areas. Disney also debuted a new park map today that shows the Main Street plaza Gardens.

January 13, 2015: WDWMagic.com has reported that the phase 2 portion of the project has begun. This includes the two sections closest to Cinderella's Castle.
January 12, 2015: WDWMagic.com is reporting that the Festival of Fantasy Parade, Main Street Electrical Parade and Wishes Nighttime Spectacular will see a change to their Fastpass+ viewing locations.
Beginning today (January 12, 2015), the Fastpass+ viewing location for both the Festival of Fantasy and Main Street Electrical Parades will be moving from the Cinderella Castle hub area to the Town Square hub area near the flagpole.
Beginning on February 27, 2015, the Fastpass+ viewing location for the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular will move from the Rose Garden to the new Main Street Plaza Gardens. These gardens are currently under construction as part of the Cinderella Castle Hub re-design. The two locations will be in front of Casey's Corner and in front of The Plaza Restaurant. Upon arrival to the viewing area, guests can choose which location they prefer, depending on availability upon arrival.
This news indicates that the first part of the hub redesign is expected to at least partially open by the end of February.
January 1, 2015: WDWMagic.com user lnsemsf has reported that the Dream Along with Mickey castle show will not be performed from April 13, 2015 through May 20, 2015. This is believed to be related to construction around the hub.

April 12, 2014: Multiple locations have reported that the moats around Cinderella Castle have been partially filled. Certain areas have been blocked off for future construction, but those areas unaffected have been re-filled.
March 8, 2014: WDWMagic.com user Tom posted an image of the Fire truck route for accessing the Magic Kingdom hub re-design. The photo shows the Main Street USA bypass as well as the new pathways in the hub.
February 27, 2014: The Disney Parks Blog officially announced the increased viewing area around the hub. They showed a video of the plans as well which can be seen above.
February 24, 2014: Orlando Parks News has posted a photo update from around the Magic Kingdom that includes some of the work around Casey's Corner as well as other hub area work.
February 24, 2014: WDWMagic.com user SeaCastle indicates that the changes will include filling in the moats in the area near the tip board and First Aid area. The intent would be to improve traffic flow in the area.
February 23, 2014: Orlando Parks News has posted that The Tip Board merchandise shop will have it's last day of operation today.
February 22, 2014: WDWMagic.com has reported that the moats around Cinderella Castle went down for refurbishment on Sunday February 23rd. The extent of the work and duration of the refurbishment is currently unknown.
