Time FrameWork to begin in May 2017 and be completed by 2019.
Disney is currently working on an expansion to the Caribbean Beach Resort that includes 7 new buildings under the project name, "Project 88". Work is expected to begin in May 2017 and be completed by 2019. Disney has confirmed that this will see the addition of new waterfront dining and shopping areas in the Centertown marketplace, however they have not confirmed additional rooms or any Disney Vacation Club rooms.
Speculation is that the Martinique and Barbados sections of the resort will be removed and replaced with new buildings.
There is another rumor that the expansion will actually be a new resort and the footprint of what is now known as the Caribbean Beach Resort will be contracted.
Speculation on room additions, points to the Caribbean Beach seeing a few rooms removed in favor of a 7 story DVC building that will be visible behind the African Outpost section of World Showcase. The location may be altered slightly to also allow for a unique viewing of Illuminations from the highest tower of the expansion. That viewing area is reported to have a sightline between the Italy and American Adventure Pavilions.
Another scenario also included a waterway that would connect the existing Epcot waterway to the North West corner of the Caribbean Beach Resort, that idea has reportedly been scrapped.

One particular building location is along the water next to the entrance to Hollywood Studios.
It is unknown what this building will be, whether or not it will be a fully enclosed structure or be something that will change the guest experience in any way. Speculation is that it could be related to the construction at the Caribbean Beach Resort and would potentially be a transportation station.
