The Komodo Dragon at the Maharajah Jungle Trek passed away in January. A new Komodo Dragon is on display but is on loan from another location. Disney has three more Komodo Dragons in quarantine (standard practice for bringing a new animal into the Animal Kingdom). The animals are believed to be one adult and two juveniles.
Additionally, two of the original six tigers have passed away. Disney will soon have three new Sumatran Tigers so that Disney can begin a breeding program. The current "Asian Tigers" are not able to breed because they are not pure bread.
