Story

The backstory of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover has gradually changed from the previous incarnations of the attraction. While the 1994 Tomorrowland Transit Authority was an attempt to tie all of Tomorrowland together as an interplanetary convention center, now the PeopleMover is primarily a tour of the land.

The attraction begins with a turntable loading area before departing for a view of the Astro Orbiter. The ride circles over to a track above Stitch's Great Escape providing views of Monster's Inc Laugh Floor and Cinderella's Castle.

The most iconic element of the attraction occurs in a tunnel inside the building for Stitch's Great Escape. In this tunnel, the vehicles travel past the model for Progress City. This model was the inspiration for the original version of Epcot as an Experimental Prototype City of Tomorrow.

Following the model of Progress City is a small scene featuring neon lights and a robot. This scene pays tribute to the prior name of the attraction, Tomorrowland Transit Authority. Immediately following this scene, the vehicle overlooks Mickey's Star Traders and dialog from Mickey Mouse can be heard as part of the narration.

After exiting Mickey's Star Traders, the vehicle moves back outside for views of Auntie Gravity's Galactic Goodies on the right, and the Tomorrowland Speedway on the left.

From this area, the track heads towards Spaceport Seven Five for Space Mountain. After the 2009 refurbishment, the Space Mountain loading area is no longer visible, but the vehicles still pass through the lift hill and under the X-1 Spaceship and inverted Astronauts. After a brief glimpse at the Space Mountain post show, the vehicle looks over a portion of the attraction. The star field can be seen overhead, but the Space Mountain vehicles no longer glow in the dark so they are less visible than the were prior to the 2009 refurbishment.

The vehicles leave Space Mountain through a tunnel lit with overhead lighting. After crossing the train tracks and passing other PeopleMover vehicles that are making their way into Space Mountain, the narrator highlights Astro Orbiter. Additionally, the Tomorrowland Stage can be viewed from this portion of the ride before the vehicle approaches Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress.

The vehicles travel around the outside of Carousel of Progress before approaching Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. A small scene featuring what resembles a futuristic hair salon is accompanied by narration from Buzz Lightyear. After this small scene, the PeopleMover vehicles overlook a large scene of Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin.

Following Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, the vehicles have another view of Cinderella's Castle before turning towards Monster's Inc Laugh Floor. While traveling above Monster's Inc Laugh Floor, guests can view Stitch's Great Escape on the left.

From here, the vehicles travel over a pedestrian walking area before returning to the station.
