Dumbo the Flying Elephant is a classic midway hub and spoke ride. Children love to sit at the helm of their favorite flying elephant as they circle the skies of Fantasyland and Storybook Circus.
Originally, Dumbo the Flying Elephant was closer to The Pinocchio Village Haus but with the introduction of New Fantasyland in 2012, the original spinner was relocated to Storybook Circus and a second spinner was constructed.
There is no Disney Description for this attraction.
Located on the right side of Storybook Circus and across from Big Top Souvenirs.

Before you Ride
Guests who experience dizziness on spinner attractions should use caution. Additionally, some guests with a fear of heights may also wish to use caution on this attraction.
Dumbo the Flying Elephant introduced a new queue concept where younger guests can play in the indoor circus themed playground while they wait. A covered exterior line leads the way into the "Big Top". Signage includes the following:
Step right up!
Come play inside!
And we'll let you know...
When it's your turn to ride!
Inside the big top, guests will be given a pager similar to those found at restaurants. The pager will vibrate and light up when it's a guests time to ride and it is labeled, "Ticket to the Amazing Dumbo."
While guests wait, younger guests can play in a highly themed circus area that features slides, a jungle gym, spinning games and more. There is also a seating area for older guests where they can watch their children.
Dumbo is flying overhead the indoor queue with Timothy Mouse standing on his head.
Additional queue signage reads:
Play while you wait!
This attraction features a new type of queue experience, where Guests wait in an indoor play area instead of a line. The time in this waiting area is included in the wait time posted in front of the attraction. Guests will receive a pager that will notify them when it's their party's turn to fly with Dumbo.
Guests that opt to use Fastpass will forego the play area.
The vehicles are "flying elephants" and feature a single row of seating. Each vehicle is capable of seating 2-3 guests. While the ride is in motion, guests can control the height of the vehicle with a lever.
As guests approach the attraction, the two carousels of Dumbos are visible in front of the big top tent. The marquee features Timothy Mouse spinning above the Dumbo sign. The story is simple, guests are going to fly with Dumbo and little details in the area lend to this theming.
Peanut shells are imbedded in the nearby concrete and the circus theme of the area ties back to the 1941 movie. The spinner carousels feature red, blue and gold painting with a series of storks at the top of each. As the attraction loads and unloads, the elephants are stationed over water, and the water feature is utilized during the ride. Additionally, at night, LED lights in the water change color.
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin and TriceraTop Spin are the same type of attraction with different theming. Astro Orbiter is another type of Spinner attraction but the vehicles in Astro Orbiter rotate at a greater speed and start out from a higher elevation.
