Before you Ride
There are parts of this ride that may be frightening to children.
The queue begins outside along the side of the Pavilion. A mural highlights silhouettes of the fish from Finding Nemo as the "Mine! Mine! Mine!" seagulls can be heard on the rocks. Once inside, guests find themselves gradually transitioning into the ocean.
The first part of the indoor queue is a winding seaside pier. Sand, sea grass and signs line the path. The path winds through sand dunes past a lifeguard's chair and a channel marker.
The concept of the queue is that guests begin at the beach and slowly walk under water. Special effects on the ceiling and walls help achieve this effect, and moon fish direct guests toward the load area.
The load area features continuously moving Clamobiles against a rockwork background.
The "Clamobiles" seat 2-3 guests per vehicle and unlike most omnimovers, guests board the vehicles from the front as opposed to the side.
The ride exits out into The Seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion. Inside the pavilion, guests can see manatees, dolphins, sharks, sea turtles and other marine life in the collection of tanks.
The story parallels the movie with Nemo getting lost, however it acknowledges that Nemo has already been lost previously placing the time frame of the attraction after the movie.
As the vehicles leave the loading area, the voice of Marlin can be heard scolding Nemo. Marlin states that he doesn't want to lose Nemo again, setting up the premise of the attraction. The scenes integrate screens with physical sets. Nemo and Marlin can be seen swimming amidst the coral, fish and other sea life in the opening scene.
Mr. Ray can be heard next, along with a warning that Nemo is swimming out to sea. Mr. Ray doesn't seem too concerned, but Nemo's classmates keep calling his name. Next, Marlin and Dory are searching for Nemo and Dory is calling him, "Fabio." Throughout these scenes, Nemo can be seen swimming between the scenery.
The area opens up to reveal a large collection of jellyfish bouncing up and down. During this scene, Dory is trying to play a game where Marlin guesses what she's thinking and each time it's jellyfish. Marlin is noticeable agitated while Dory, continues to play.
Dory keeps talking as she's chased by an angler fish. The next scene following the angler fish features a shipwreck, and Nemo can be seen swimming around the boat. Bruce the shark questions whether or not clown fish taste funny before the attraction transitions into the next scene and Chum the shark peaks his head out of the wreckage towards the vehicles.
Crush and Squirt can be heard calling for Nemo to join them on the East Australian Current (EAC). At this point, Nemo establishes that he's right behind Marlin.
After leaving the East Australian Current, Mr. Ray can be heard again and the Clamobiles now have a view into the real aquariums inside the pavilion. Marlin, Dory and Nemo can be seen swimming inside the aquarium with the real fish. Other characters from the movie can all be heard singing "Big Blue World" as they swim with the real fish.
The attraction ends with Peach the starfish asking if she can come with us. The dialog for Peach is extended and would take multiple visits to the attraction to hear all of it.
No other attraction integrates the animated projections onto water like The Seas with Nemo and Friends. Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid is similar in theme, but features more elaborate scenes than The Seas with Nemo and Friends.
